The Local Legend

Ballard's roundest
night-shift neighbor.

Jimothy is a wild raccoon who lives in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. He walks a little differently — wildlife experts think he has short spine syndrome — and he gets around just fine. One July evening, a neighbor filmed him crossing a lawn and climbing a staircase, asked the internet "what am I looking at," and the internet fell in love.

This page is a fan-made celebration. It is not official, Jimothy has not approved it, and he never will, because he is a raccoon.

Meet the Real Jimothy

The clip that
started everything.

Our illustration is an original character study. The real Jimothy is a wild animal, and the real footage belongs to the neighbor who filmed it. Watch it where it was posted — that's how you support the people who share Ballard's finest with the world.

From the WDFW: please don't approach or feed him. Officials note Jimothy appears healthy and gets along fine without human help. Round is not a rescue situation.
