Glass Comes After the Wet Zone Is Built

A beautiful glass enclosure on a soft curb or a pan that pools is just a clear window into the next leak. We build the shower as a system — custom pan, continuous membrane, tile or microcement finish — then we measure for glass. That order is why custom fabrication and install show up as real line items on Seattle bathroom jobs, not as a same-day kit.

A Fixed Panel Needs a True Channel

Frameless glass looks simple. It is not forgiving. The channel has to land on a finished edge that is plumb, sealed, and part of the waterproofing — not caulk covering a gap. We set the channel after the wet zone passes its checks.

Doors Need Clearance, Not Wishful Swing

Can you install glass on an existing shower?

Sometimes — if the curb, pan, and waterproofing are sound. If they are not, glass will not fix the leak. We say which case you are in after a walkthrough.

How is this different from repairing a shower leak?

Glass does not waterproof the shower. If you already have a stain or soft wall, start with shower leak diagnosis. If you are renovating and the wet zone is being built correctly, this page is how custom shower glass fits after tile or microcement.

Frameless or framed?

Finish-only work often does not; changing plumbing, structure, or a shower configuration often does. We tell you which one you have before you commit, and we file through SDCI and Public Health–Seattle & King County when a permit applies. Budget $500–$1,500 for permit costs when they do. Does microcement change the glass?
