Our Warranty, In Plain Language
Most contractor warranties are written to be hard to read. Here is ours in full: what we cover, what we don't, how fast we respond, and what happens after the job is done.
What we cover
One year of workmanship, from completion. If something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and put it right. No deductible, no argument about whether it counts.
What we don't cover
Three things, stated plainly so there is no surprise later:
- Normal wear and tear. Grout that needs resealing after years of use, caulk that eventually shrinks, finishes that age. That is maintenance, not a defect.
- Materials you supplied. If you bought the fixture or the tile, its performance is between you and where you bought it. Our installation of it is still covered.
- Work we didn't do. We can't warrant someone else's plumbing, wiring, or waterproofing behind a wall we never opened.
How fast we respond
Within 48 hours. That is a response commitment, not a repair window — some fixes wait on a part. But you will hear from a person, with a plan, inside two days. You call Austin, the same person who has been your point of contact the whole way through.
Manufacturer warranties: we register them for you
Fixtures, waterproofing systems, and microcement all carry their own manufacturer coverage, and most of it requires registration to be valid. We handle that registration on your behalf. It is the kind of paperwork that quietly expires when nobody does it.
What we do when we get it wrong
A warranty is only worth what a company does under pressure. On a West Seattle job we supplied a sliding door in the wrong configuration — our specification error, not the crew's install. The client caught it before we did. We took the door back out the next morning, returned with the correct unit, and installed it that same day. DuetRight paid for the second door and the day of labour. The client's price did not change by a dollar.
Then we changed the process: door handing, swing direction, and rough-opening dimensions now get written explicitly on every door and window line item we quote — where the homeowner reads it and where our own crew reads it before ordering.
After the warranty year
We check in at 30 days and again at 90 days after your project is finished — not to sell you anything, just to catch anything that needs catching while it is still small.
Past the first year, DuetRight Care is the ongoing path: a scheduled maintenance walkthrough of the systems that actually fail in Seattle homes, with a written record of what we found.
Want the whole picture before the warranty ever matters? Our process page walks through every stage of a renovation, from the first consultation to the 90-day check-in.
Every project's specific scope, materials, and terms are written into your quote. Approving the quote is the agreement — and nothing gets added to it later without your written approval.
